Continental has announced that it has developed a flat car radio that does not require any storage media and is equipped with Bluetooth and USB interfaces.
Continental's car radio is in line with consumer demand for a digital lifestyle and can be connected to USB, SD memory cards, and MP3 music players. In addition, the driver can make hands-free calls through the radio's Bluetooth interface.
The radio has a width of about 18 cm, a height of 10 cm, a minimum thickness of 4 cm, and a weight of about 1.3 kg lighter than a conventional car radio. The small size and light weight of the radio not only saves energy, but also saves the vehicle's interior space.
Continental Group stated that it will soon mass-produce the flat panel radio.
