Crash with entrapment near Union, 9-5-20

On September 5, 2020, Union Engine 1543, Brush 1569, and Assistant Chief 1503, along with units from Marengo and Woodstock, responded to a two-vehicle T-bone collision at the intersection of Route 176 and Dunham Road in Union. The crash resulted in one individual being airlifted to the Rockford Trauma Center. Due to the severity of the accident, Route 176 was closed for approximately an hour late Saturday night. Authorities from McHenry County are currently investigating the incident to determine the cause.
