Dongfeng Xiangfan Instruments Co., Ltd. convenes technical quality and QCD/SCM improvement meeting

On February 17, Dongfeng Xiangfan Instrument Co., Ltd. held its 2008 Technical Quality and QCD/SCM Improvement Work Meeting. The gathering aimed to review the achievements of 2007 and outline the strategic direction for the upcoming year. During the event, several outstanding technical teams were recognized for their contributions in 2007, and battle plans were issued to relevant departments to drive further progress. In 2007, the company focused heavily on "independent innovation," launching a new generation of products while enhancing its information network infrastructure. Efforts were also made to elevate assembly process technology and conduct competitive analysis to support long-term development. The company filed five national patents that year, with notable projects such as the "DETC-001 Digital Stepper Motor Instrumentation System for Automotives" and the "Automotive MEMS Pressure Microsensor" winning first place at the Xiangfan Science and Technology Progress Award. Another project, "D310 Automotive Electronic Instrument Development," was submitted for the Dongfeng Motor Company Scientific and Technological Progress Award. Quality management remained a top priority in 2007. The company successfully met all quality targets set by Dongfeng Commercial Vehicles, including PDI, CE-VES, capital claims, and delivery performance. It also completed the TS16949 audit and recovered RMB 2.22 million from suppliers through quality compensation. Additional improvements were made in data analysis and basic quality control practices. Employee motivation saw a significant boost, leading to a 27.2% reduction in physical loss rates at production sites. Cost-saving initiatives in technology and procurement were also well executed. The CFT team, led by senior management, worked to improve inventory turnover, achieving a 33.43% improvement over seven months of focused efforts. Looking ahead to 2008, the company will focus on 17 new product development goals. It plans to introduce competitive mechanisms, enhance R&D training, accelerate lab construction, and strengthen advanced product quality planning. Key suppliers will be tasked with meeting strict quality control standards, and critical equipment companies are encouraged to develop emergency measures or identify backup suppliers to reduce dependency risks. The company will also reinforce quality information management and process discipline audits to ensure timely resolution of issues. Improved feedback loops and higher acceptance rates will be emphasized to address quality concerns effectively. The quality department will lead special meetings to analyze major market feedback and ensure customer satisfaction. Continued cost-reduction efforts in procurement and technology will help lower material costs and increase profit margins. All areas of the business will focus on reducing three key cost components: compensation, waste, and inefficiency. Wang Taibin, the company’s general manager, urged employees on the front lines of technology and quality to embrace innovation and strive for continuous improvement in 2008. He encouraged them to adopt the Nissan policy management model, aiming for ambitious goals that exceed current expectations and contribute to the realization of the company’s mid-term business plan. Emphasizing the importance of scientific development, he called for realistic and forward-thinking strategies in manufacturing, product development, and market expansion.
