The JHB1400-22 high-flow, high-temperature concentrated sulfuric acid sub-pump is a product developed by Kunming Jia and Pump Co., Ltd. to meet the growing demand for large-scale sulfuric acid production in China. Drawing on advanced materials and structural designs from both domestic and international sources, the company leveraged its extensive experience in R&D and manufacturing of concentrated sulfuric acid pumps to create this innovative solution. The pump's key technical specifications include a flow rate of 1400 m³/h and a head of 22 meters. Its main features include a large flow capacity, precise hydraulic design using Tsinghua University’s professional software, and advanced heat treatment processes that ensure excellent mechanical properties. It also replaces traditional PTFE shafts with more durable alternatives.
This pump was successfully installed in September 2004 at the Guixi Smelter of JCC, replacing an imported model in a 600,000 t/a flue gas sulfuric acid plant. Operating conditions include 98% H₂SO₄ with temperatures ranging from 80°C to 90°C. Remarkably, it has operated without maintenance or inspection for over six months, with no signs of corrosion or downtime. Recently, the Yunnan Phosphorus Chemical Industry Association organized a review involving experts from provinces such as Yunnan, Jiangxi, Guizhou, Anhui, Hubei, and Jiangsu. They evaluated the JHB1400-22 pump used in the siphon acid circulation system at Guixi Sulfuric Acid Plant of Jiangxi Copper Group. The comprehensive performance met international standards, and the experts concluded that the pump's performance is at an advanced global level. It has filled a critical gap in the domestic market for high-temperature, high-flow concentrated sulfuric acid sub-pumps.
The successful development of the JHB1400-22 pump not only marks a significant milestone in China’s chemical and smelting industry but also provides valuable experience for future research into large-flow, high-temperature concentrated acid pumps. This achievement contributes greatly to the localization and advancement of large-scale chemical and metallurgical facilities in China.
