Sinoma Wind Power Blade Co., Ltd. recently achieved a major milestone by successfully obtaining approval to produce wind turbine blades measuring 40.25 meters in length and rated at 1.5 megawatts. This marks the longest domestically developed wind power blade in China, showcasing the company's capability in independently designing and manufacturing large-scale wind turbine blades. The Sinoma Blade Division, established in June 2007, has built on nearly 50 years of expertise from the Beijing FRP Research and Design Institute, becoming a leader in the research, design, and production of wind turbine blades and their molds.
The R&D center of Sinoma Technology is located in the Beijing Economic and Technological Development Zone, while its mold production and blade manufacturing facilities are situated in the Badaling Economic Development Zone. The newly launched Sinoma40.2 blade was co-developed with a renowned German blade design firm. According to experts from the China Epoxy Resin Industry Association, this blade is made of an epoxy resin composite with a cylindrical base and a diameter exceeding 2 meters. It uses the international standard vacuum-assisted infusion molding process combined with advanced aerodynamic design, specifically tailored for China’s wide-ranging wind conditions.
Compared to other 1.5 MW wind turbine blades, the Sinoma40.2 offers advantages such as lower unit load, larger swept area, and higher energy generation efficiency. As one of the most expensive components in wind turbines, epoxy resin fiberglass blades account for approximately 20-25% of the total unit cost. While China has made progress in producing 1.5 MW blades, it still relies partly on foreign technology. Major domestic manufacturers include Lianyungang Zhong Lianzhong and the Shanghai FRP Research Center, alongside international players like LM, Vestas, and Gamesa.
Sinoma Technology’s 40.25-meter blade represents a significant step forward, with an annual production capacity of 200 units and 10 mold lines. The company has already signed supply contracts with Sinovel Wind Power and has delivered 30 blades, with five more installed in wind farms in Northeast China. With China’s vast territory and abundant wind resources—estimated at 3.226 billion kW—the potential for wind power development is immense. As global energy demand rises and environmental awareness grows, wind power is set to play a critical role in China’s future energy strategy.
Despite progress, challenges remain. China’s wind power manufacturing industry still depends heavily on foreign technology, particularly in core components, leading to higher generation costs. However, efforts are underway to address these issues. The Shanghai FRP Research Institute has already certified its 1.5 MW blade system, and plans are in place for 2 MW and 3 MW blades. Meanwhile, Huayi Wind Turbine Blade Research and Development Co., Ltd. has also made strides, developing blades up to 38 meters in length. With ongoing R&D and increasing production capabilities, China is steadily building its own wind power industry, aiming to reduce reliance on imports and support sustainable growth.
5 Series Explosion-proof Coal Safety Proportional Multi-way Valve
The directional spool valves types PSL and PSV serve to control both, the direction of movement and the load-independent, stepless velocity of the hydraulic consumers. In this way several consumers may be moved simultaneously, independently from each other at different velocity and pressure ratings, as long as the sum of the partial flows needed for this is within the total delivery supplied by the pump. The proportional spool valves of this pamphlet are designed as valve banks and consist of three functional groups:
