2nd Alarm for the explosion in Long Grove 4-25-14

Some early images from 4773 Trenton Court, located in the Royal Melbourne subdivision of Long Grove. Part of this development lies within the Long Grove Fire Protection District, while the remaining area falls under the Countryside Fire Protection District.
The incident occurred before 11 PM on Friday when firefighters were called to a reported fire. According to initial reports, the homeowner had just exited the home minutes before a massive explosion completely destroyed the structure, sending splintered debris flying in all directions. Several nearby homes suffered damage, including broken windows, buckled garage doors, and structural issues.
More details are expected throughout the day as investigators continue to assess the scene and gather information.
