World Chemicals $1 Billion Club Ranking

BASF has once again taken the top spot in the 2007 "Chem Weekly" ranking of the world's top chemical companies. Based on 2006 sales figures, BASF outperformed Dow Chemical, which had previously held the lead. In 2006, BASF's chemical sales rose by 19% to $51.6 billion, while Dow Chemical saw a more modest increase of 6%, reaching $49.1 billion. ExxonMobil Chemical and Shell Chemicals followed in third and fourth place, respectively. Notably, three oil companies with significant petrochemical operations occupied positions within the top 10. Total ranked eighth, moving up from ninth in 2006. All three oil companies reported chemical sales growth exceeding 12%. This year’s ranking saw a major shift with Ineos, which climbed from 47th to fifth after acquiring BP’s Yinuo Petrochemical business in late 2005. Ineos' sales surged sixfold to $36 billion. Meanwhile, DuPont fell from first to sixth, and China Petrochemical Corporation (Sinopec) remained in seventh place. Lyondell Chemical and Bayer rounded out the top ten. The gap between the top three companies was significantly reduced. BASF’s sales were 5% higher than Dow Chemical’s, while Dow’s sales were just 1% ahead of ExxonMobil. However, the disparity among the top 10 companies widened, with Shell’s sales being 11% higher than Ineos', and BASF’s sales over 150% greater than Bayer’s. BP’s drop in rankings was attributed to the sale of its chemicals business, Econal, to Ineos. Sinopec also disappeared from the list due to its merger with Nippon Oil in August 2006, as Nippon Oil did not disclose its chemical revenue. Additionally, BASF acquired Takeda Co., Ltd.'s shares in the BASF Takeda vitamin joint venture, while Mitsui took over Takeda’s shares in Mitsui Takeda Chemical Co., Ltd. Industry experts suggest that ongoing mergers and acquisitions will likely reshape next year’s rankings. Saudi Basic Industries Corporation (Sabic) recently completed its $11.6 billion acquisition of GE Plastics, placing it 11th with $19.7 billion in chemical sales. This move could position Sabic among the top 10 in the coming year.

Rear Bumper

Car rear bumper
The rear bumper is an important part installed at the rear of the car. It mainly protects the rear structure of the vehicle, decorates the body, and absorbs energy and reduces damage during collisions. It is usually made of plastic, metal or composite materials, coordinated with the overall shape of the car body, adding beauty to the vehicle while providing safety protection.

Collision buffer:
When a vehicle is hit from behind, the rear bumper is the first line of defense, absorbing and dispersing the impact energy, reducing damage to the vehicle structure and passengers. Through its own deformation and internal buffer structure, it effectively reduces the impact of the collision and protects key vehicle components such as the trunk, taillights, and rear suspension.

Design:
The shape of the rear bumper is usually coordinated with the style of the whole vehicle, adding a unique visual effect to the rear of the car. Its lines and shapes can be smoothly integrated with the body of the car, enhancing the overall aesthetics of the vehicle. The rear bumper designs of different models have their own characteristics, some are simple and generous, and some are sporty and fashionable, meeting the different aesthetic needs of consumers.

Trailer hook installation:
Some models have a trailer hook installation hole on the rear bumper, which is convenient for installing a trailer hook when needed to realize the vehicle's towing function. This is very practical for users who need to tow large items such as RVs and yachts.
