Traditional casting pumps involve complex manufacturing processes such as mold making, pouring, and machining, which result in high energy consumption, material waste, labor intensity, and environmental pollution. Moreover, they struggle to produce narrow-flow impellers efficiently. In contrast, stainless steel stamping centrifugal pumps use a stamping and welding process, replacing traditional casting methods. This innovative approach saves over 70% of materials, increases efficiency by 3% to 5%, and makes mass production easier through mechanization and automation. It also reduces environmental impact and labor demands.
The case study was conducted at Guangdong Jiangmen Angel Hardware Appliance Co., Ltd., a major production base for the "Angel" brand washing machines. After implementing stamping centrifugal pumps, the company installed 347 automatic bottle washing and filling machines, using a total of 2,082 stainless steel stamping centrifugal pumps. This led to more than 40,000 yuan in cost savings on pump purchases.
For manufacturers, producing 2,082 units of these pumps saved 3.47 tons of stainless steel and reduced casting power consumption by 7,634 kWh. For users, the operating power of the pumps dropped from 2.18 kW to 2.11 kW, saving 3.2% in energy. Additionally, the lightweight and compact design of the pump makes it easy to maintain, further lowering maintenance costs.
According to data from the National Bureau of Statistics and the China Machinery Industry Federation, the annual demand for foundry pumps in the country is 4.57 million units, with over 380,000 units of alloy casting small-flow pumps required each year. Stainless steel stamping centrifugal pumps offer a lighter, more aesthetically pleasing design, higher efficiency, and lower costs—half the price of imported pumps. With significant economic benefits and broad application potential, this technology has promising market prospects.
