Weichai Power: Serve the Heart and See the Truth

Since January 12th, southern China has experienced one of the most severe cold and snowstorms in recent decades due to the influence of strong cold air. This extreme weather has brought heavy snow, freezing temperatures, and widespread disruptions, affecting transportation, power supply, and daily life. The Beijing-Guangzhou railway line was closed, highways were blocked, airport operations were halted, and some power lines collapsed. It is reported that this storm is the worst in 50 years, significantly impacting people’s livelihoods and economic activities. In the face of such natural disasters, Weichai service teams demonstrated remarkable dedication. Faced with harsh conditions, their staff worked around the clock, ensuring timely support for customers. Their commitment and sincerity earned widespread trust and admiration from users. Many heartwarming stories emerged, reflecting the spirit of Weichai’s customer-first philosophy. Hunan province was particularly hard-hit. From January 12th, continuous rain, snow, and freezing temperatures persisted for 13 days, a rare occurrence in modern history. The prolonged cold caused severe snow disasters across 13 cities and counties, including Changsha, Zhangjiajie, and Changde. Railways and highways were paralyzed, and Changsha still faces large-scale power outages. Before the disaster struck, the Weichai Changsha Service Center quickly adapted. When the office lost power, they switched to their own backup electricity sources to maintain communication and ensure uninterrupted service. This proactive approach allowed them to continue supporting customers even under challenging conditions. On January 30th at 7 PM, Wang Haiyang, director of the Changsha Service Center, received an urgent call from Long Sharon, a bus company. A Neoplan bus equipped with a Weichai Lanqing WP10 engine had broken down near the Changsha West Expressway exit. The vehicle had traveled for three days through heavy snow, and the driver was desperate for help. Despite the icy roads and difficult conditions, Wang and his team set out immediately. The journey took over 10 hours, as the road was covered in thick snow and ice. Upon arrival, the maintenance team faced another challenge: finding the data interface of the engine's computer system in the dark and cold. With temperatures dropping to -4°C, the task was extremely tough. However, by contacting the manufacturer and retrieving the necessary data, they managed to resolve the issue after three hours of intense work. The driver was deeply moved and offered to treat the team to lunch, but they politely declined. Due to the severe damage to the power grid, many generators were activated. The Changsha center handled numerous service requests, including a critical issue at Changsha Mobile Communications. A generator set failed, risking system failure. The team arrived promptly, providing on-site support and ensuring smooth operations. As a result, Changsha Mobile increased its trust in Weichai and placed multiple orders for generator sets. Similarly, in Nanjing, where a once-in-a-century snowstorm hit, the Weichai Nanjing team remained committed. On January 23rd, a Jinlong-Xiamen bus broke down on the highway due to a rear-end collision. The team quickly mobilized, sending parts via train and car to reach the scene. After a six-hour journey through snow, they successfully replaced the faulty component and restored the bus to operation. In Hefei, where snow continued to fall and the situation remained critical, the Weichai Hefei team maintained full service. On January 28th, a Shaanxi Heavy Duty Truck broke down on the HeNing Expressway. Despite the highway closure, the team found a way to reach the site and replaced the starter motor in time. Director Song Jianyong shared another touching story: a Yutong bus was stuck on the highway, and the driver was unable to fix it. Through a phone call, the team guided him step-by-step, ultimately resolving the issue. These are just a few examples of the unwavering efforts of Weichai service personnel during the snowstorm. Across the south, their dedication and passion have become a symbol of the company’s core value: “Customer Satisfaction Is Our Purpose.” Their actions not only helped users but also strengthened their trust in Weichai.

Fasteners

Fasteners are a type of hardware device that mechanically joins or affixes two or more objects together. They play a crucial role in a wide range of industries, including construction, manufacturing, and automotive. Fasteners come in various forms such as bolts, nuts, screws, studs, pins, and nails, each designed for specific applications and materials.

One of the most popular materials used in the production of fasteners is stainless steel. Stainless steel is an iron-based alloy that contains a minimum of 10.5% chromium, providing excellent strength, corrosion resistance, and durability. These characteristics make stainless steel fasteners ideal for outdoor applications and in environments where corrosion is a significant concern. They are commonly used in sectors like marine, chemical, and food processing industries.

Bolts and nuts are among the most widely used types of fasteners. Bolts are typically used alongside nuts to hold materials together, creating a secure and robust joint. They are often used in construction, machinery, and automotive applications. On the other hand, nuts are internally threaded fasteners that secure a bolt or screw, providing a firm hold.

Screws are another common type of fastener, designed to hold objects together and in place. They are typically driven into a material using a screwdriver and are widely used in woodworking, metalworking, and in electronic devices.

Studs and pins are used in situations where one side of the fastened material is inaccessible. Studs are threaded on both ends and are often used in automotive and plumbing applications. Pins, on the other hand, are unthreaded and are used to align or hold parts of a machine or structure in place.

Nails are a type of fastener typically used in construction and woodworking. They are driven into the material using a hammer or a nail gun. Nails come in various sizes and types, each designed for a specific application.

The production of fasteners often involves Computer Numerical Control (CNC) machines. CNC is a manufacturing process in which pre-programmed computer software dictates the movement of factory tools and machinery. This technology allows for precise control of speed, location, coordination, and feed rate of the machinery, resulting in high-quality, consistent, and complex fasteners.

In conclusion, fasteners are indispensable components in various industries. Whether made from stainless steel or other materials, whether in the form of bolts, nuts, screws, studs, pins, or nails, these small devices play a massive role in holding our world together. And with the help of technologies like CNC, the production of these fasteners becomes more efficient and reliable.
