East Alkali Moves to Substantial Steps Qinghai Soda Industry Co., Ltd. Phase I 900,000 tons soda project completed Phase II 900,000 tons plant start-up

On June 30th, Qinghai Soda Industry Co., Ltd. Delingha Soda Plant's first phase project with an annual output of 900,000 tons of soda ash was completed and ignited. At the same time, the foundation of the second-phase project of the same scale was started.

Ma Jiantang, deputy governor of Qinghai Province, Wang Yongming, deputy governor of Zhejiang Province, and the head of China Soda Industry Association attended the groundbreaking ceremony for the completion of the first phase of the project's completion of ignition and the second phase of the project. The completion of an annual output of 900,000 tons of soda ash project will mark the beginning of a substantial step in the eastward move of the East Base of the domestic hot-settlement project, which will change the current industrial layout of the domestic soda ash industry and the industrial salt supply of the soda ash industry. It is a model for western private-owned enterprises to invest in western resource-based industries. Since then, there have been large-scale soda enterprises in the western region.

Qinghai Soda Industry Co., Ltd. was incorporated by Zhejiang Glass Co., Ltd. in Delingha, Qinghai Province. Its main 1.8 million tons of soda ash project has a total investment of 3 billion yuan, which will be constructed in two phases. The first phase of 900,000 tons of soda ash project with an investment of 1.6 billion yuan was started in July 2003. Qinghai Alkali Industry stated that after the first phase of the project is ignited, it will strive to complete production of 200,000 tons to 250,000 tons this year. The second phase of the project, which is another set of 900,000 tons of soda ash plant, will have an investment of 1.4 billion yuan. It is planned to complete the ignition by the end of next year. By then, the annual production capacity of 1.8 million tons will be formed in the Qinghai Soda Industry, which can realize annual sales income of 2.5 billion yuan and profits and taxes of 800 million yuan.

As the holding company of the Qinghai Soda Industry Co., Ltd. Zhejiang Glass Co., Ltd. has an annual production capacity of more than 10 million boxes of glass, so the soda produced by it will be self-digested by 30%. Compared with soda ash enterprises in the eastern part of the country, Qinghai Alkali Industry Co., Ltd. has the advantages of sufficient resources and low environmental pressure in the alkali base in the Qaidam Basin, but it will also encounter difficulties in long product transportation distances and high freight costs.

Aluminium is a relatively soft, durable, lightweight, ductile, and malleable metal with appearance ranging from silvery to dull gray, depending on the surface roughness. It is nonmagnetic and does not easily ignite. A fresh film of aluminium serves as a good reflector (approximately 92%) of visible light and an excellent reflector (as much as 98%) of medium and far infrared radiation. The yield strength of pure aluminium is 7–11 MPa, while aluminium alloys have yield strengths ranging from 200 MPa to 600 MPa.Aluminium has about one-third the density and stiffness of steel. It is easily machined, cast, drawn and extruded.
Aluminium atoms are arranged in a face-centered cubic (fcc) structure. Aluminium has a stacking-fault energy of approximately 200 mJ/m2.
Aluminium is a good thermal and electrical conductor, having 59% the conductivity of copper, both thermal and electrical, while having only 30% of copper's density. Aluminium is capable of superconductivity, with a superconducting critical temperature of 1.2 kelvin and a critical magnetic field of about 100 gauss (10 milliteslas).

Chemical
Corrosion resistance can be excellent because a thin surface layer of aluminium oxide forms when the bare metal is exposed to air, effectively preventing further oxidation,in a process termed passivation. The strongest aluminium alloys are less corrosion resistant due to galvanic reactions with alloyed copper.[9] This corrosion resistance is greatly reduced by aqueous salts, particularly in the presence of dissimilar metals.
In highly acidic solutions, aluminium reacts with water to form hydrogen, and in highly alkaline ones to form aluminates- protective passivation under these conditions is negligible. Primarily because it is corroded by dissolved chlorides, such as common sodium chloride, household plumbing is never made from aluminium.
