On March 7th, the US vehicle safety regulatory agency announced on the 6th that Fiat Chrysler Automobile Company (FCA) will recall 702,578 ignition switch fault SUVs and MPVs in the United States, which may cause the engine to stall unexpectedly.
The recalled models include the 2008 to 2010 Dodge Grand Dragon, Chrysler Town and Country and the 2009 to 2010 Dodge Journey SUV. Some of these models have been recalled for the same problem before.
According to the company, bumpy road conditions and vibrations may cause the ignition switch to move to the closed position or the attachment position, causing engine shutdown, airbag disabling, power steering and brake failure.
FCA said it plans to replace the fault ignition switch for the 2008-2009 models in April and start repairing the 2010 vehicle failure components in August. FCA recommends that the owner's key ring should not be equipped with other extra items, only keep the key until the problem is solved.
