**February 5, 2018 - Late Night Fire Breaks Out in Pleasant Prairie**
I just got this update from Jeff Rudolph, who sent over some incredible photos of the massive fire that broke out late last night in Pleasant Prairie, Wisconsin. The address where the incident occurred is 4335 94th Street, and it quickly escalated to a fourth alarm situation.
Multiple fire departments from neighboring Illinois towns were called in to assist Pleasant Prairie’s firefighters as they tackled the blaze at a large residential home. Departments like Newport, Winthrop Harbor, Zion, Beach Park, Waukegan, Antioch, and Gurnee all responded to the scene, with several others stepping up to cover their own stations while they were away.
The sheer amount of smoke rising from the house was absolutely staggering—almost hard to believe it came from one structure. You can see the thick plumes of smoke in the photos Jeff captured, which really give you an idea of how intense the situation must have been for everyone involved.
As firefighters worked tirelessly to bring the flames under control, their efforts were supported by a variety of vehicles, including E-ONE Cyclone II fire engines from Gurnee and Seagrave fire engines from Beach Park. Waukegan’s quint also made an appearance on-site, showing just how coordinated the response effort was across these different jurisdictions.
It’s moments like these that highlight the incredible teamwork and dedication of first responders. Despite the chaos of the situation, they remained focused on protecting lives and property. I’ll keep you updated if more details emerge about the cause or any further developments.
In the meantime, my hat goes off to everyone who helped out last night. These images truly capture the scale and intensity of what unfolded, and Jeff’s photography does an excellent job conveying the drama of the scene.
