Leyden 3-11

The All-Stars Gentlemen’s Club, located at 11645 W. Grand Avenue in Northlake, IL, was completely destroyed today in a devastating fire. The building went up quickly and came down just as fast, with flames and smoke visible for miles. On a day when temperatures were in the high teens, the fire's intensity was so great that the header could be seen from over 20 miles away. The club was situated within the Leyden Township Fire Protection District, just one block east of the I-294 tollway. Emergency response was swift, with numerous fire departments from MABAS Division 20 rushing to the scene. Units from Rosemont, Maywood, Westchester, Schiller Park, Melrose Park, Northlake, Stone Park, Elmwood Park, Bensenville, River Grove, Bellwood, and Franklin Park all responded. The scale of the incident brought a large number of firefighters and equipment to the area, making it one of the more significant calls of the day. Local photographers also arrived on the scene, though most missed the most dramatic moments. Steve Redick, Jeff Rudolph, Larry Shapiro, and Tim Olk all arrived after the roof had collapsed, capturing the aftermath. Here are some of Tim Olk’s images, along with a panoramic shot by Steve Redick showing the back of the site. More photos and videos will be shared in the coming hours.
